Founded in 1920, the ACLU is the nation's foremost guardian of liberty. We are a non-profit, non-partisan, private organization with 53 affiliates throughout the nation. | Delaware HIV Consortium |
The Delaware HIV Consortium is a statewide non-profit
organization established to facilitate collaboration among its
members and to ensure that quality, non-duplicative HIV
treatment and prevention services are available throughout
Delaware. Our membership includes HIV/AIDS service providers,
civic leaders, public health professionals, representatives of
private business, and persons living with HIV disease. The
Consortium operates several statewide working committees, which
are governed by a duly elected Board of Trustees. The Consortium
works to better the lives of Delawareans with HIV through
service coordination, community participation, and consumer
involvement. Over the years the Consortium has added innovative
programming to the array of HIV/AIDS services in Delaware,
including HIV Information Libraries and Resource Centers, an HIV
Drug Education, Support and Adherence Program, a tenant-based
rental assistance program for those living with HIV/AIDS, and
two site-based housing programs for individuals with HIV and
mental illness.

The J.U.S.T. for Youth Coalition is committed to increasing awareness, reducing risky behaviors, and providing support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth in Delaware. We provide sensitivity and cultural competency training and informational workshops for service providers, parents, and youth. We also facilitate LGBTQ youth social and peer-to-peer groups. J.U.S.T. for Youth assists youth and youth-serving agencies in identifying and participating in support programs for sexual minority youth that are offered in Delaware. |

Regional Affiliate was announced in March 2008, and is the 11th
region to form under Out & Equal Workplace Advocates. A dedicated
group of individuals have been working hard to make this a reality,

| The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware | The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware is a volunteer, not-for-profit community chorus that provides gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, transgendered persons, and their friends and supporters with opportunities for the performance of choral music in a supportive and affirming environment. | The Renaissance Transgender Delaware Chapter | Renaissance provides peer support
for adults exploring their gender identity. We welcome anyone who
considers themselves transgender, whether they identify as a
crossdresser, transsexual, transgenderist, intersexed, or are still
discovering who they are, as well as their spouses, friends, and
interested professionals. We have members across the entire
transgender spectrum, with diverse backgrounds, occupations, and
ethnicities. Renaissance is a non-profit educational organization
under section 501[c](3) of the tax code. The Delaware chapter is one
of 12 chapters of Renaissance around the country. The Delaware Chapter of Renaissance holds its meetings on the second Saturday evening of the each month. |

In Washington, DC, in October 1986, three elderly gentlemen established a trust to create a social fraternity that wouldn't discriminate based on sexual orientation; the donors regretted such an alternative organization did not exist during their formative years. As Trustee, Vernon L. Strickland, III, administered the founding of Delta Lambda Phi National Social Fraternity, creating its crest, selecting its mascot and designing its rituals. In April 1987, Strickland initiated 24 men into the Fraternity's Alpha Chapter - Delta Lambda Phi was born. Since then, Delta Lambda Phi, a fraternity for gay, bisexual and progressive men, has become one of the country's fastest growing fraternities with chapters from coast to coast. |
